About this notice
This privacy notice explains how Itemcount Technology Inc. ("Itemcount," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use Itemcount websites, the Itemcount web application, Itemcount POS for iPhone and iPad, and other services that link to this notice (collectively, the "Services").
Itemcount is a business operations platform. An organization that provides your account may control the business records entered by its users. In that situation, contact your organization first for questions about those records.
Information we collect
Account and contact information. We process details such as your name, business email address, phone number, organization, role, sign-in identifiers, and authentication records.
Business and transaction content. Depending on the features your organization uses, the Services process inventory, products, suppliers, customers, orders, sales, receipts, reports, uploaded documents and images, and related operational records.
Technical and usage information. We process IP address, browser and device characteristics, timestamps, app or page activity, security events, crash or diagnostic information, and cookie or local-storage data needed to operate and protect the Services.
Payment information. When a payment feature is used on the web, payment providers process the payment method and related transaction information under their own privacy terms. Itemcount may receive identifiers, status, amount, and reconciliation details, but does not need to store full payment-card credentials.
Mobile permissions and native features
Bluetooth. Itemcount POS may use Bluetooth to discover, remember, connect to, and send receipt or label data to a printer you select. The app stores the selected peripheral identifier so it can reconnect. Itemcount does not use Bluetooth for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Camera, photos, and files. The app requests access only when you choose a feature that captures or uploads a photo, scans information, or selects a file. Selected content is processed as part of the business record you create.
Location. The app may request location while in use for HRIS attendance or other location-enabled workflows chosen by your organization. It does not request continuous background location in version 1.
Itemcount POS version 1 does not request microphone, advertising-tracking, or push-notification permission. You can change camera, photo, Bluetooth, and location permissions in iOS or iPadOS Settings.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users; provide POS, inventory, order, reporting, HRIS, printing, file, and support functionality; synchronize information across authorized devices; maintain account status; secure and troubleshoot the Services; prevent fraud and abuse; communicate service information; improve reliability and usability; and comply with legal obligations.
The web Google Analytics tag is disabled inside Itemcount POS for iOS. The public website and browser version may use Google Analytics or Vercel Analytics for aggregate website usage measurement, subject to the consent and controls available in the relevant service.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and business information while the applicable customer account is active and afterward for only as long as reasonably necessary for contracted services, backups, security, dispute resolution, tax or accounting records, and legal obligations. Different record types can have different retention periods. Backups are removed through their normal protected rotation.
An account administrator can request account closure or deletion by contacting developer@itemcount.io. Individual users whose account is controlled by an organization should contact that organization. We may verify a request and may retain information where law or legitimate security and recordkeeping needs require it.
Security and international processing
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and encrypted network transport. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Our providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than your own, with protections required by applicable law and our agreements.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You can manage mobile permissions in device Settings and certain profile details in Itemcount. Contact us to exercise a right; we may need to verify your identity and authority.
Children
The Services are intended for businesses and authorized workforce users, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a consumer-directed service.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our Services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised notice here and update the date shown above. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services or by another appropriate method.
